Winter & Spring
(1 May – 30 September)

Only 2-night Packages are available during this period

For the cooler months of the year from 1 May till the end of September, only Packages are available.  Please refer to Day Packages or Stay Packages.

  • Rates for all suite types except for the Moose Suite and Packaged rates, are quoted per person per night. The Moose Suite rates are based on the 2-bedroom Suite Rate with a maximum occupancy of 4 guests.
  • All rates are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include a 15% Goods & Services Tax.
  • Full Board rates include your accommodation, a 3-course gourmet set menu dinner with daily menu changes, pre-dinner drinks and canapes, a hearty country breakfast and use of all lodge facilities.
  • For the period between 24 December and 2 January, a 2-night minimum booking is required. No checkouts are permitted on 25 December, 31 December, 1 January,
  • Rates are subject to confirmation at the point of reservation.
  • The Estate’s private golf course is available for guests where green fees apply unless packaged. Please refer to Packages.  Electric golf carts, trundlers and golf clubs are available for hire and other golf items are available for purchase.
  • Check In is from 2pm – 5pm. Check Ins after 5pm or during Pre-dinner & Dinner service will require prior notice and arrangement.  If no prior notice is given, your reservation will be considered a “no show”.  Please refer to Cancellations, No Shows & Refunds.  Pre-dinner and Dinner times are set times each day. No refunds are due for missed Pre-dinner (if included in rates) or Dinner service.
  • Check Out is anytime up till 11am. Breakfast times are set for 7am – 10am.  If you require an early check out or early breakfast please inform us.  No refunds are due for missed breakfasts.
  • Breakfast is served between 7am and 10 am.
  • Pre-dinner drinks are served between 6.30 pm and dinner is served from 7pm.
  • If Pre-dinner is not included in the rates and you wish to enjoy Pre-dinner drinks and canapes, please inform us at the time of reservation.
  • All dinners are specially designed by our chefs daily and are on a set menu. If you have dietary requirements or restrictions, please inform us at the time of reservation so we may tailor the menus to suit you throughout your stay with us.
  • Note: Meals required outside of the stipulated hours must be arranged at the point of reservation and will incur extra charges.
  • Note: No refunds will be made for any meals missed, including pre-dinner drinks.
  • A young child who is 5 years or younger at the time of arrival may stay without charges if they share the same suite as the parents and occupy the same bed. Only 1 child is permitted to share the suite with the parents.
  • Children between 6 and 12 years of age at the time of arrival will be required to have their own room either with 1 adult or a maximum of 2 children. This suite will be charged the Single Occupancy rate. No more than 2 children are permitted in a suite.  No triple beds are available in any suite.
  • Meals for children will be specially prepared by the chefs. If a child has special meal requirements, please inform us at the time of reservation.  Meal times for very young children (5 years and younger) may be set for an earlier time.
  • Children must be supervised at all times by the parents or an adult within the reservation.
  • Baby-sitting & child minding services are available on request. Booking of a babysitter is essential and this has to be made at the time of reservation. Child-minding rates vary. Please enquire at reservations@mooselodge.co.nz for fees and arrangements of baby sitters or child minders.
  • If children disrupt service, are a verbal or physical disturbance to other guests, the lodge staff reserve the right to request that the children be moved to a separate location and be under the supervision of a parent.
  • Although dinner jackets for men and long evening gowns for women are not required at meal times, guests are expected to dress appropriately for the occasion.
  • No hats, jeans, tee-shirts, shorts, jandals (flip-flops), women’s dress showing inappropriate parts of the body, beltless trousers are not permitted in the shared areas of the lodge.
  • If not formal wear, smart casual wear should be the attire in these shared areas of the lodge.
  • On the golf course, collared tee-shirts are permitted. Please refer to Golf Dress Code and Etiquette.
  • Guests are not permitted to enter the kitchen or the bar at all times.
  • Cell phones– It is expected that all guests will be respectful of others while using cell phones and other forms of wireless communication. Guests may use their cell phones but are required to keep the ringers down as a respect to other guests
  • When accepting a call or making a call, guests are required to leave the room to do so.
  • Respect for other guests is of utmost importance. What happens in a private lodge stays private. Regardless of what you see and who you meet, you do not share it with others. Guests, and staff all must respect the privacy of others.

Making a Reservation & Payment

  • The full amount of the total reservation will be charged at the time of reservation.
  • A valid credit card number will be required to complete the reservation.
  • At the time of making your reservation please inform us of the following:
    • Your Estimated Time of Arrival
    • Where you will be arriving from. From another city in NZ or directly from overseas.
    • Your dietary requirements or restrictions. We serve a set menu dinner and will tailor to suit your dietary requirements while you stay with us.
    • If you wish us to arrange any transfers, tours, sightseeing or activities in our area or on your onward journey after your stay with us.

Cancellations, No Shows & Refunds

  • Cancellations made between 30 and 8 days prior to arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee for each night cancelled.
  • Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to arrival date will incur a 100% cancellation fee for each night cancelled.
  • If the guest does not arrive on the arrival date and has not made a cancellation of the reservation, it is deemed to be a “no show”. If no prior notice is given for late arrivals after 5pm it will be considered a “no show” as well.  A 100% cancellation fee applies to the total reservation even if the guest arrives the next day or any subsequent days within the originally booked dates. Ie your suite will be given up to other bookings.
  • Bookings between December 23 – January 5: cancellations made 60- 31 days prior to arrival will incur an administration fee of $250.

Private Group Reservations

  • A reservation for 10 or more adults is considered a Private Group Reservation. This could be 5 suites on a Double Occupancy Rate or 10 suites on a Single Occupancy Rate.  Only Full Board rates apply.  Please contact us on reservations@mooselodge.co.nz for special rates and policies.
